Market day at Honfleur. Saucisson (cured pork products), boulangerie (breads), fruiterie, salade and of course the ubiquitous cellar!
Veau a la Papillon (veal butterfly) prepared by moi, and wok-fried noodles prepared by Rose.
Brasserie (convenience restaurant) in Sarlat le Canada, Fruits der Mer (seafood platter) in Bordeaux, Moules Mariniere (Mussels in Sauce) at Honfleur, and Limande (Plaice) in Bergerac.
Market day in Riberac--spices and dried fruit, fruits der mer (seafood); Huitres (Oysters) plucked off their beds in Cancale. Gastronomique (gourmet) dinner at Le Chevalle, Saint Pierre sur Dives. Easily my finest meal in France, their signature dish was Tripes a la mode de Caen (Tripe Stew). Magnificent. Market day in Saint Pierre sur Dives. It was raining when we got there, so we ducked into the hall for refuge. Gorgeous tomatoes and a good con at the Fromagerie (cheese stall). The exterior and stench of the cheese he sold us promised mature pleasure but delivered insipid bleah instead.
